i am looking to purchase an audi soon. i don't know if it's necessary i get the quattro, is it? i have a very quick car, a z28, which is about the speed of the style before current of a corvette. i would like something comparable. my z28 does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds so 6/7 seconds is comparable enough.

i especially want something dependable. that z28 has been a handful. american cars just break down easily. please recommend a year and type of audi that would be a good purchase. really a range of years is fine or range of models. gas mileage i know isn't great in these things, i would prefer it get at least 20 in the city and nearly 30 on the highway. i have a 6-speed manual in the z28 and love it, but also live in the city and it is pretty intense, so i will probably go for an automatic this time around.

Firstly, to say that Audi cars are unreliable is absurd...German cars (namely Audi, BMW, VW...)

Secondly, if you do not know if you want a quattro or not, then having one wont be an issue, its simply an AWD...

If you are looking for an Audi model that has similar speed to the car that you own, the 2000-2002 or 2003-2005 Audi S4 will be your best bet...

Although the 0-60 time on the 00-02 model will be ~5.6, it is still very quick with its twin-turbo 2.7 V6

The 03-05 S4 has the 4.2 V8 and produces more power than the 00-02, however the price range of this model will linger around 20k, whereas with the 00-02, youll find a bunch from 13-17k

As far as I am concerned, if your looking for an Audi that can put out a lot of power, but keep the price under 20k, these will be your best options

Listen don't listen to the last guy aud'is are very reliable cars. The germans are known for their quality in cars which in my opinion are more reliable than american cars as well as they last much longer. I know this because i own a mercedes and a bmw and i never had a problem with them. As far as buying the audi i suggest you go for another car such as a 330ci bmw thats used. Bmw's are known for their acceleration and it is a very fast and beautiful car. Plus many more girls will be attracted to you if you buy the 330ci bmw rather than the audi. The bmw is a real eye opener in my opinion. It would it either be the bmw or a mercedes c240 which is also a really nice car. Consider these cars before buying the audi for around 20k. The bmw and mercedes also get excellent mpg close to the 20mpg city and 30mpg highway.

if you are looking for a car to drive spiritedly and you want it to perform do not get a front track get the quattro. a rear drive car will perform better on dry roads but quattro gives you the best of both worlds in my opinion. Its better than rear drive on wet or snowy roads and much better than front drive on any roads. if you are just looking for every day transportation than front drive is fine but dont expect it to perform. Audis are more reliable than MB and they are comparable to BMW. There is a huge difference in build quality between German and American cars but German cars are more expensive to maintain but don't necessarily break down more just more expensive for parts and have more to maintain. You have to do all required maintenance on a German car.

I would look for a 2000 or 2001 S4 with the twin turbo V6. or a V6 A4 quattro. but if you are looking for near vette performance i would go for the turbo 6 S4 its easily modded and can be very fast.

I very own a 1990 BMW 325i. It has an inline 6, and that i've got extra many overall performance areas. the final factor you're able to do, is open the exhaust up somewhat by changing their 70 pound resonators with white-knights. It provides the vehicle a respectable rumble, devoid of being stressful loud, and permitting greater lower back-rigidity via. It quite livened up the vehicle once I did the exhaust artwork. i are starting to be the vehicle over 230km, with room to bypass. Rear-wheel rigidity and peppy, they are great exciting and stay tight to the line. there is likewise quite some aftermarket areas for them. you could p.c.. a variety of automobiles up for 3-5k in solid condition. you will on no account choose to allow it bypass.

I really don think you should get an Audi of you want reliability, I think you should go with Japanese Reliable Cars, they last the longest and if you want a luxury car go with the Toyota Camry great MPG and every bit as luxurious as the Audi.

you're asking the impossible.

1. audi's are LESS reliable than american cars (CR, JD Powers both agree)

2. 0-60 in 6/7 AND good fuel economy...

3. actually, i could find those things and faster, but there's only one car made that will do it... and it's a chevrolet.

chevy cobalt ss

vw gti will get close, but is less reliable and slower and has poorer fuel economy.
