When to aplply lacquer?

I am spraying a car door with spray cans. at what stage do I apply lacquer?

after its all painted and there are no imperfections...then you clearcoat/lacqure it.normall about 30 mins after the last coat of paint....very hard to do with cans..

Desert camel is right but as he knows you have to many unknowns .a spray can wont give as much lacquer as a gun so drying time is reduced also temperature while spraying ,The general idea is put the lacquer on just before the base paint has dried right through to create a bond. good answer desert
